Earl W. Wolka, age 88, of Brownstown, passed away on Wednesday, February 20, 2019, at Hoosier Christian Village, Brownstown.
Mr. Wolka was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Wegan, where he held various offices. He was born on March 17, 1930, in Brownstown, Indiana. He was the son of Lydia (Otte) Wolka and Simeon Wolka, both of whom preceded him in death. On April 24, 1960, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Wegan, he married Alberta A. Hinnefeld and she preceded him in death on July 30, 2011.
He served in the United States Army. Earl was a member of the Brownstown American Legion, Post 112, and was a Past Post Commander. He worked as a truck driver at Midway Supply and Goodwill in Seymour.
Earl graduated in 1948 from Tampico High School.
Survivors include two sons: Douglas (Brenda) Wolka of Seymour, and Michael Wolka of Indianapolis; two daughters: Cheryl Foster of Brownstown, and Brenda (Ron) Wilson of Brownsburg; 7 grandchildren: Jennifer (Ryan) May, Daphne (Brandon) Davis, Zachary Foster, Andrew (Suzi) Wolka, Adam Wolka, Anna Daniel, and Joseph Wilson; great grandchildren: Monroe Wolka, Landry Mae Wolka, Mya Davidson, Theodore Davis, Abraham Daniel, Abel Daniel, Abilene Daniel, Abner Daniel, Nikolas Wilson, Jenson May, Lilly May, Haylie May, and Blaize May; and a sister, Carolyn Wolka.
Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Faron L. Wolka; and one sister, Thelma Ruth Wolka.
Funeral services for Earl W. Wolka will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, February 23, 2019, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Wegan, with Pastor Martin Keller officiating. Friends may call from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Friday, February 22, 2019, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., and from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service on Saturday, February 23, 2019, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Wegan.
Interment will be at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Wegan Cemeter. Military honors will be presented.
