Obituary

Larry Steven Axsom, age 77, of Norman, passed away peacefully early Wednesday morning, January 15, 2025, at Hoosier Christian Village, Brownstown, surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Axsom was a lifetime member of Norman Community Church, where he served as an usher and trustee. Larry was a familiar presence at the church. His pride and joy were evident in the countless hours he spent maintaining the church and the grounds, and ensuring it remained a welcoming place for worship and fellowship.
Steve dedicated many years to working at the State Highway Department, before his retirement. His career was marked by his dedication and care that he brought to all aspects of his life, as he was always willing to lend a helping hand.

Larry was a man of great patience and generosity. His legacy was one of love and service. He touched the lives of many through his generosity of spirit and his willingness to always put others before himself. He also had a deep passion for the outdoors.
Born on June 2, 1947, in Seymour, Larry was the son of Kenneth P. and Geneva (Davis) Axsom, both of whom preceded him in death. On November 18, 1966, at Dellsville Church in Bloomington, he married Virginia Ann Burrris, and she survives in Norman.
