Anita Sue Wise, age 83, of Seymour, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, April 18, 2025, at The Lutheran Community Home, Seymour, with her loving husband by her side. Mrs. Wise was a devoted member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in New Haven. She had a deep passion for singing in the church and took great pride in serving on the altar committee. Anita was a graduate of Alexandria High School and Ball State University, and she earned an associate's degree from Indiana University–Purdue University in Fort Wayne. She pursued her college education after her children were in school. Following her graduation, Anita held supervisory roles at both ITT and L3Harris. Anita loved her family immensely and was deeply loved in return. She cherished every moment spent visiting with them. She also found great joy in working in her flower gardens, cross stitching, and traveling with her husband, especially on travels to Arizona. One of her greatest passions was being President of the LWR Quilters and making quilts for those in need, both in her local community and around the world. She also proudly served as Treasurer of New Haven Emanuel Ladies Society. Born on September 16, 1941, in Anderson, Anita was the daughter of William and Margaret (Johnson) Muller, both of whom preceded her in death. On July 30, 1961, at The Lutheran Church of Our Blessed Savior in Alexandria, she married James Russell Wise, and he survives in Seymour. Survivors include one son, Joel (Tina) Wise of Columbus; one daughter, Linette (Andrew) Barry of Fort Wayne; one granddaughter, Anna (Tyler) Claycamp of Seymour; two great-grandchildren: Addilyn Claycamp and Grayson Claycamp; and one sister, Marilyn Pierce of Alexandria. Besides her parents, Anita was also preceded in death by an infant son, David Wise; and one brother-in-law, Gene Pierce. Funeral services for Anita Sue Wise will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 21, 2025, at Zion Lutheran Church, Seymour, with Pastor Jeffrey Stuckwisch and Pastor Bradley Akey officiating. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 21, 2025, at Zion Lutheran Church, Seymour. Interment will follow at Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery, Seymour. Memorials may be given to Zion Lutheran School.
