Clara Lou Taylor, age 80, of Seymour, passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2020, at Schneck Medical Center, Seymour. Mrs. Taylor was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Seymour. Clara worked at the AFC office, Hobart's and Cosco. She was also a life-long farmer, and loved helping her husband on the farm for over 30 years. She enjoyed riding horses, taking camping trips to Brown County, and playing cards and going on vacation with her card club for more than 60 years. She also loved square dancing with her husband, and they belonged to the Bucks and Does Square Dance Club for numerous years. Born on September 17, 1939, in Jackson County, she was the daughter of Forrest and Olive (Nelson) Guinn, both of whom preceded her in death. On August 28, 1982, at Trinity United Methodist Church, Seymour, she married Jerry Taylor and he survives in Seymour. Survivors also include one sister, Wilma (Don) Claycamp; one brother, Larry (Linda) Guinn; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Clara Lou Taylor will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 11, 2020, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown, with Rev. Michael Sweaney officiating. Friends may call from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, August 10, 2020, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown, and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Due to the Covid 19 Pandemic, Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc. will be practicing social distancing according to CDC guidelines. Masks are required when entering the funeral home.
