Curtis Michael "Mike" Hoaks, age 65, of Bedford, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 20, 2019, at Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis. Born on February 13, 1954, in Bedford, he was the son of Curtis and June Fisher Hoaks, both of whom preceded him in death. Mr. Hoaks was a member of Liberty Christian Church, and attended Clearspring and Brownstown schools. Mike was a kind-hearted, gentle person, always ready to help others in need. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, watching sports, taking drives, and having a good cup of coffee. During the past few months, he made new friends at his new home, especially Darby Jones. Mike will be missed by many family members and friends. Survivors include his dear friend of many years, Vickie Fields of Columbus; uncle and best friend, Dwight Fisher of Norman; sister, Susie Hoaks (Terry) Pray of Bedford; niece, Mandy Pray of Bedford and her children, Cooper and Bella; nephew, Seth (Lindsay) Pray of Brownstown and children, Brock and Abraham; and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. Funeral services for Curtis Michael "Mike" Hoaks will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 24, 2019, at Liberty Christian Church, Norman, with Kenny Fisher officiating. Friends may call from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at Liberty Christian Church. Burial will be at Liberty Cemetery, Norman. Memorials may be given to Liberty Cemetery.
