David E. Schepman, age 73, of Paris Crossing, passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2019, at Covered Bridge Health Campus. Mr. Schepman was a lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Sauers, where he held various church offices. He was also a member of the Indiana National Guard. David was a lifelong farmer, and enjoyed spending time outdoors. He loved fishing and spending time with friends and family. He also loved to raise a big garden and share with family and friends. Born on October 2, 1945, in Seymour, he was the son of Harry and Deloris (Auffenburg) Schepman, both of whom preceded him in death. On January 28, 1968, at Brownstown United Methodist Church, he married Sue (Sparks) Schepman and she survives in Paris Crossing. Survivors also include three sons: Scott (Maggie) Schepman of Paris Crossing, Bradley (Samantha) Schepman of Paris Crossing, and Clay (Cara) Schepman of Brownstown; one brother, James (Pam) Schepman of Brownstown; two sisters: Barb (Dennis) Ramsey of Brownstown, and Betty (Baron) Hill of Indianapolis; eight grandchildren: Emma Schepman, Katelyn Schepman, Logan Schepman, Olivia Schepman, Henry Schepman, Aidda Schepman, Myra Schepman, and Bane Schepman. Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by one brother, Thomas Schepman. His wife, Phyllis Schepman, survives. Funeral services for David E. Schepman will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, March 13, 2019, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Sauers, with Pastor Craig Muhlbach officiating. Friends may call from 3:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, March 12, 2019, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown, and from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service on Wednesday, March 13, 2019, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Sauers.
