Dora Mae Goforth

Dora Mae Goforth, age 73, of Brownstown, passed away on Friday, October 5, 2018, at Schneck Medical Center, Seymour, surrounded by her family. Mrs. Goforth was a member of Clearspring Baptist Church. She worked for Spurgeon Insurance for numerous years and loved working in her flower garden. Born on April 29, 1945, she was the daughter of Henry and Minnie Taylor Cheek, both of whom preceded her in death. On October 19, 1963, she married Jack Lee Goforth, and he preceded her in death on August 31, 2017. Survivors include 25 nieces and nephews; and 30 great nieces and nephews. Mrs. Goforth was also preceded in death by two brothers: Manuel Cheek and Billy Cheek; and one sister, Kathleen Cornette. A graveside service will be conducted on Jack and Dora's wedding anniversary, on Friday, October 19, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at Houston Cemetery with David Sawyers officiating.
