Geneva June DeBell, age 77, Bloomington, passed away at 10:55 p.m. Friday, December 20, 2013, at Hospice House, Bloomington. Geneva was of the Christian faith. She was a secretary for Public Service Indiana for more than 20 years and also was a homemaker. She loved to garden and quilt and was a member of a quilting club. Born May 26, 1936, in Seymour, she was the daughter of Leslie and Louise Robinson Pfenning, both of whom preceded her in death. Survivors include a son, Marc DeBell, Norman; two daughters, Syndy (Randy) Perkins, Bloomington, and Hallie (Rob) Amos, Columbus; a sister, Ida Sitterding, Norman; a stepsister, Phyllis Sherrill, Norman; and three grandchildren, Amy (Chris) Wach, Nineveh, Casey Ashton, Toronto, and Caitlyn Douglas, Columbus.She was preceded in death by her parents; stepmother Joyce Pfenning; and stepbrother Carroll Fleetwood. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Spurgeon Funeral Home Inc., Brownstown, with Floyd Fisher officiating. Burial will take place at Kurtz Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service Monday at the funeral home.
