Irene A. Terkhorn, age 86, of Seymour, Indiana, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Lutheran Community Home, Seymour. Mrs. Terkhorn was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. She was a devoted housewife and mother. Born on February 23, 1930, in Champaign, Illinois, she was the daughter of George H. and Amalie Borcherding Tape, both of whom preceded her in death. On May 20, 1949, in Brownstown, Indiana, she married Rolland Terkhorn and he preceded her in death on March 8, 2007. Survivors include two sons: Ronald (Nancy) Terkhorn of Seymour, and Russell (Susie) Terkhorn of Wimauma, Florida; one daughter, Patti (Dave) Emerson of Seymour; one sister, Norma (Jim) Russell of Seymour; seven grandchildren: Jeff Terkhorn, Rachel Frey, Holle Psota, Pete Terkhorn, Michael Terkhorn, Erin Emerson, and Ashley Emerson; and twelve great grandchildren: Nicholas Frey, Lucy Frey, Anna Rose Frey, Anna Jo Terkhorn, Zoe Terkhorn, Benjamin Psota, Elijah Psota, Reese Psota, Braylon Terkhorn, Ashton Terkhorn, Reagan Terkhorn, and Grant Terkhorn. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, George Tape Jr. and Edgar Tape. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 on Thursday, February 9, 2017 at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc. with Pastor Ralph Blomenberg officiating. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Lutheran Cemetery, Brownstown. Memorials may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Immanuel Lutheran School, or Lutheran Community Home.
