Janice Burchett

Janice Kay Henson Burchett, age 80, of Norman, passed away on Saturday, November 21, 2020, at her residence. Janice retired from Dicksons of Seymour and was also a homemaker. She loved spending time with her family and friends, working in her yard and gardening. She also loved listening to music, especially country, western and ole time rock and roll, and dancing. Born on July 11, 1940, she was the daughter of Rufus and Bertha Henderson Hillenburg, both of whom preceded her in death. She married Harold Lloyd Henson and he preceded her in death in 1993. Survivors include two daughters: Keela (Charlie) Banister of Norman and Penny (Bill) Wilson of Norman; eight grandchildren: Amy Banister, Gloria Banister, Katrina (Wes) Hoene, Brittany Henson, Melissa Holbrook, Josh (Rachel) Henson, Scott (Meghan) Ferguson and Jason (Tiffany) Ferguson; 12 great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Brian Ferguson; daughter-in-law, Angie Henson; and fiancé, Bernard Cummings. Janice was also preceded in death by a daughter, Robin Ferguson; and two sons: Dave Henson and Roger Henson. Funeral services for Janice Kay Henson Burchett will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 25, 2020, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown, with Floyd Fisher officiating. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 24, 2020, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown, and from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Due to the Covid 19 Pandemic, Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc. will be practicing social distancing according to CDC guidelines. Masks are required when entering the funeral home. Attendance will be limited to 50 people at any given time. Interment will be at Kurtz Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Kurtz Cemetery.
