Jay M. Buttorff

Jay M. Buttorff, age 71, of Brownstown, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at his residence. He was a member of Brownstown Nazarene Church. Jay was employed with Lichter Rubber of Seymour and prior to that he worked at Swain Industries. Jay loved sports and was an avid Indiana University fan. He enjoyed spending time with family, fishing, attending the Jackson County fair and numerous other festivals. Born on May 28, 1944 in Jackson County, Indiana, he was the son of Genive O. Buttorff, who preceded him in death. Survivors include one brother, Jimmie D. Buttorff of Medora; niece, Tonya Ault of Medora, and great-niece, Kori Jo Ault of Medora. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown, with Tim Lichtley officiating. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown. Burial will be at Kurtz Cemetery.
