John Henry Conley Yeary, age 81, of Freetown, passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Yeary was a devoted member of Medora Pentecostal Church for many years, faithfully serving in numerous capacities within the congregation. He had a deep and abiding faith and a profound love for the Lord. John dedicated over 50 years to the J.C. Groub Company in Seymour, where he worked until his retirement in 2016. John's family meant the world to him. He cherished every moment spent with them, especially the time shared with his beloved grandchildren. He also had a passion for raising farm animals, with a special fondness for horses. John took great joy in restoring tractors and his Lionel trains. Born on October 5, 1943, in Lee County, Virginia, John was the son of Art and Martha Jane (Stewart) (Collins) Yeary, both of whom preceded him in death. On April 2, 1967, in Easyville, he married Pat McCory, and she survives in Freetown. Survivors also include two daughters: Shelia (Harold) Love of Brownstown, and Tammy (Jon) Endris of Bedford; two sisters: Jeannette Sitterding of Brownstown, and Roxy (George) Reynolds of Brownstown; grandchildren: Jordan (Tiffany) Love, Amanda Love, Jamison Hendley, Cheyanne Hendley, Jordan Endris, and Jonnie Ikerd; and great-grandchildren: Alikah Love, Hazel Kirkman, Rosie Kirkman, Zoey Kirkman, Iris Kirkman, Arthur Kirkman, Oliver Ikerd, and Finley Rome Ikerd. Mr. Yeary was also preceded in death by one great-grandchild, Bralyn Hendley; one sister and brother-in-law, Eula and Calvin Gray; and one brother, Ted Yeary. Funeral services for John Henry Conley Yeary will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at Medora Pentecostal Church with Pastor Gill and Bishop Walls officiating. Friends may call from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at Medora Pentecostal Church and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at Medora Pentecostal Church.
