Mabel Elizabeth (Benter) Pollert

Mabel Elizabeth Benter Pollert, age 95, of Seymour, passed away on Friday, July 30, 2021, at Covered Bridge Health Campus, Seymour. Mrs. Pollert was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Sauers. Mabel was employed with Excello Shirt Factory for 48 years, and she was active with the Star Promenaders Square Dance Club for numerous years. Mabel loved the Lord and enjoyed reading the Bible, playing with her grandchildren, playing cards, and crocheting. She also loved cooking for her family, especially Sunday dinners. Born on April 15, 1926, in Jackson County, Indiana, she was the daughter of Martin and Anna Darlage Benter, both of whom preceded her in death. On May 12, 1946, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Sauers, she married Arthur W. Pollert and he preceded her in death on May 9, 2014. Survivors include one son, Stanley Pollert of Seymour; two grandsons: Craig (Jeanne Grider) Pollert of Seymour and Kyle (Sarah Shackleford) Pollert of Seymour; three great-grandchildren: Lizzie Ann Pollert, Luke William Pollert and Noah Patrick Pollert; one sister, Luella Holle; one brother, Willard (Verna) Benter; and several nieces and nephews. Mabel was also preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Cheryl Terkhorn Pollert; two brothers: Fredrick Benter and Harold Benter; three sisters: Edna Stuckwisch, Clara Boyd and Esther Wessel; and brother-in-law, Lawrence Holle. Funeral services for Mabel Elizabeth Benter Pollert will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 4, 2021, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Sauers, with Pastor Craig Muhlbach officiating. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 3, 2021, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown, and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 4, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Sauers. Interment will be at St. John's Lutheran Church, Sauers Cemetery. Memorials may be given to St. John's Lutheran Church, Sauers, or St. John's Lutheran School, Sauers.
