Neva Marie Imogene Lockman, age 91, Medora, passed away at 6:50 p.m. Wednesday, August 28, 2013, at Hoosier Christian Village, Brownstown. Neva was a member of Medora Christian Church. She was a homemaker and enjoyed flower gardening, quilting and crocheting. Born December 13, 1921, in Charlestown, she was the daughter of Quinn and Annie Heifner Pitts, both of whom preceded her in death. On November 1, 1945, she married Charles F. Lockman in Dalton, Georgie. He survives. Other survivors include one daughter, Patricia Marie (George) Adams, Seymour; two grandchildren, Lisa Kaye (Mike) Dailey, Cleveland, Tenn., and Jennifer Marie (Joe) Sawyer, Crothersville; three great-grandchildren, Michael (Shannon) Epps, San Diego, Justin (Destiny) Smith, Seymour, and Kayla Barnett, Crothersville; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; one granddaughter, Michele Smith; two brothers, Glenn Pitts and Leonard Pitts; and two sisters, Pauline Beck and Virginia Kelly. The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Spurgeon Funeral Home Inc., Brownstown. Burial will take place at Fairview Cemetery, Brownstown. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the family.
