Opal L. (Sitterding) Nash, age 90, of Seymour, Indiana, passed away at 9:35 a.m. on Friday, January 9, 2015, at Seymour Crossing. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Seymour and the Senior Center and was a homemaker. Born on November 8, 1924, in Little York, she was the daughter of Edward and Mary Lockhart Trueblood, both of whom preceded her in death. She married Alvin Sitterding and he preceded her in death in 1970. In 1979, she married William Nash. Survivors include four sons, Alvin (Jeannie) Sitterding, Jr. of Azalia, Jerry (Linda) Sitterding and Steven (Vickie) Sitterding, both of Seymour, and Douglas Sitterding of Paris Crossing; ten grandchildren, Joe (Jan) Sitterding, Tim Sitterding, Clint (Courtney) Sitterding, Matt (Melissa) Sitterding, Brian (Heather) Sitterding and Corey Sitterding; and seven great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters. A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 12, 2015 at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown. Friends may call from noon until the time of the memorial service on Monday, January 12, 2015 at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society. The family would like to thank the staff at Seymour Crossing and Premier Hospice for making the final moments of life peaceful for her.
