Roger A. Dailey

Roger A. Dailey, age 74, of Brownstown, passed away on Monday, October 10, 2022, at Columbus Regional Hospital. Roger was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church for most of his life. Mr. Dailey worked at Cummins Engine Co. later retiring from Aquatic Control in 2013. He served in the United States Army from 1968 – 1972. Roger had an unconditional commitment to his family, especially following his grandchildren. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed taking drives in the country, as well as listening to live music. He was especially thankful for the blessing of 33 years sobriety. Born on March 25, 1948, at home in Uniontown, he was the son of Allen Ray and Helen (Estes) Dailey, both of whom preceded him in death. On June 16, 1968, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Seymour, he married D. Joan (Eckelman) Dailey and she preceded him in death on May 1, 2009. Survivors also include one son, Joshua A. (Shelby) Dailey of Seymour; two daughters, Sara A. (Ed) Stuckwisch of Brownstown, and Becky A. (David) Stevens of Austin; seven grandchildren, Amanda (Emmitt) Hanner, Matthew (Emily) Stuckwisch, Abby Stuckwisch, Mia Dailey, Emersyn Dailey, Adam Cox, and Zane Stevens. He is also survived by his dear friend and companion, Roxanne Hawkins. Besides his parents and wife, Roger was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Maggie Cox. Funeral services for Roger A. Dailey will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 14, 2022, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Brownstown, with Pastor Ryan Schneider officiating. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 13, 2022, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown, and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 14, 2022, at the church. Interment will be at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church Cemetery. Military honors will be presented by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1925, American Legion Post 89, Disabled American Veterans 47, and Vietnam Vets 7.
