Obituary

Tony Ray Holman, age 56, of Brownstown, passed away on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at his home. Tony worked as a maintenance technician at West Washington School system. He served in the United States Army and was a proud member of VFW Post 6636, American Legion Post 41, and the Jackson County Spurs and Wheels Saddle Club. He had a deep passion for horses and embraced the cowboy way of life. He also enjoyed crafting western décor and had a special love for his dog, Loretta, whom he adored dearly. Born on September 4, 1968, in Seymour, Tony was the son of Guy and Juanita (Barnett) Holman, both of whom preceded him in death. Survivors include one daughter, Cheyenne (fiancé D.J. Crockett) Holman of Brownstown; two sons: Dakota (Ashley) Holman of Nashville, and Dustin (Brittany) Bell of Norman; one sister, Alana (Tony) Knotts; one brother, Kevin Holman; and seven grandchildren: Maddilynn Crockett, Grayson Holman, Mason Holman, Lakota Holman, Kash Sexton, Brennan Bell, and Bryce Bell. Funeral services for Tony Ray Holman will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc. and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Brownstown. Military honors will be presented by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1925, American Legion Post 89, Disabled American Veterans 47, and Vietnam Vets 7. Memorials may be given to Don & Dana Myers Cancer Center. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the caring staff at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc.
