Wilma Jean Hilderbrand, age 88, of Norman, passed away on Sunday, December 12, 2021, at Hoosier Christian Village, Brownstown, surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Hilderbrand was of the Christian faith.
She retired from Cummins Engine Co., and she was a past member of the Owen Township Fire Department. Jean loved visiting with her family and friends, making her famous peanut butter fudge and peanut butter balls, riding horses, and camping.
Born on October 3, 1933, in Lawrence County, Jean was the daughter of Clone and Myrtle Fleetwood Fleetwood, both of whom preceded her in death. On February 24, 1953, in Lawrence County, she married Rodney M. Hilderbrand and he preceded her in death on June 7, 2010.
Survivors include one daughter, Karen S. Kinser of Norman; two brothers: Donnie Fleetwood of Heltonville and Larry (Debbie) Fleetwood of Columbus; four sisters: Lorietta Fern (Jack) Steele of Spencer, Ruth Parker of Brownstown, Wanda Kaye Mullins of Brownstown, and Debbie Otte (David) Hamilton of Brownstown; one granddaughter, Autumn R. Kinser (Jon Simmons); several nieces and nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, and great-great-nephews.
Mrs. Hilderbrand was also preceded in death by two brothers: Arnold Fleetwood, and Ray Fleetwood; two sisters-in-law, Janet Fleetwood, and Eva Fleetwood; and three brothers-in-law: Wally Mullins, Larry Parker, and Kevin Otte.
Funeral services for Wilma Jean Hilderbrand will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 16, 2021, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown, with Pastor Floyd Fisher officiating. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown, and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
Interment will be at Robertson Cemetery, Maumee.
Memorials may be given to Kurtz Church of the Nazarene.
