Judy Ann Whittredge Kirts
October 22, 1938 - April 24, 2015
Judy Ann Whittredge Kirts, departed this crazy world to her new home in heaven at 4:15 p.m. on Friday, April 24, 2015, wrapped in the arms of her children, Clifford, Lydia, and Mark. She attended Clear Spring School, graduating in 1956. Judy loved music, and especially enjoyed playing the French horn, which she continued to play until it was too heavy for her to hold. She had the privilege of sharing her talents with her grandchildren, singing, playing the keyboard, cooking and teaching them to fish; she shared a special relationship with each one of her beloved eleven grandchildren. Her granddaughter, made the statement recently that described Granny perfectly. "Granny didn't have very much money, but what she did have, she always made sure she shared it with us. We always got a birthday and Christmas gift". Granny Annie, as she was known to many, never failed to share what she had with others, be it her famous black bottom cookies or her listening ear. Judy had worked at the USDA-ASC Office in Brownstown, and was also administrative assistant for the National Foundation of March of Dimes, North-East District Headquarters in Indianapolis for several years. Judy was born on October 22, 1938, in Kurtz, Indiana, the third daughter of David Paul and Fern Doris (Fleetwood) Whittredge. She is survived by her three children, Clifford (Egna) Kirts of Kurtz; Lydia (Jack) Hauer of Seymour; and Mark (Tina) Kirts of Freetown; grandchildren, Andrea (Ben) White, Candace (Brian) Stout, Leah Kirts, Victoria Kirts, David (Ashley) Kirts, Louis (Alix) Kirts, Solomon Kirts, John Kirts, Elena Kirts, Wesley (Rachel) Cummings and Zoe Cummings; Great-grandchildren, Alivia and Charlotte White, Tristan and Eden Stout, Jordyn Kirts, Tucker Humprey and Araylyn Jewel Cummings; three sisters, Elizabeth Rose Wray, Shirley Jo (Marvin) McKain and Ruth Ellen Whittredge; one brother, Bruce (Kelly) Whittredge; and one sister-in-law, Phyllis (David) Whittredge. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at Kurtz Church of the Nazarene. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown, and from noon until the time of the service on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at Kurtz Church of the Nazarene.
