Alice Rose Goforth, age 78, of Norman, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2016 at her residence.
Mrs. Goforth was a member of the Kurtz Nazarene Church and a retired cook from Jackson School in Seymour.
Born on April 12, 1938, in Seymour, she was the daughter of Ernest and Juanita Gullet Hildreth, both of whom preceded her in death. She married William C. Goforth on March 14, 1958 and he preceded her in death on May 7, 2015.
Survivors include two sons, William "Bill" (Brenda) Goforth of Norman, and Michael (Lisa) Goforth of Seymour; one daughter, Kathy (Harold) Parker of Norman; two brothers, Steve (Susie) Hildreth of Reddington and Doug (Myra) Hildreth of Pekin; three sisters, Janet Shurman of Seymour, Pauletta (Paul) Sturdevant of Hayden and Sherry White of Hayden; nine grandchildren, Angela (Greg) Snelling, Rob Harris, Ben Kerkhof, Brittany Robbins, Breanna Goforth, Amanda Banks, Jenny Pearson, Daryl Brewer and Gabe Bennet; and twelve great grandchildren.
In addition to both parents and her husband, she was also preceded in death by one sister, Judy Smith.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at Kurtz Nazarene Church with Floyd Fisher officiating. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown, and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at Kurtz Nazarene Church. Burial will be at Kurtz Cemetery.
