Barbara E. Henderson

Barbara E. Henderson, age 87, of Medora, Indiana, passed away at 5:10 p.m. on Monday, October 6, 2014 at Schneck Medical Center, Seymour, Indiana. She was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, Leesville, and also a member of the Ladies Aid. She was a homemaker and a member of the House to House Club. Born on August 19, 1927, in Jackson County, Indiana, she was the daughter of Earl and Ruby Wagoner England, both of whom preceded in death. She married Winford R. Henderson on September 22, 1944 in Medora, Indiana, and he preceded her in death in 2008. Survivors include one son, Rick (Shirley) Henderson of Medora, Indiana, and one daughter, Barbara Joann (Bill) Brandt of Crothersville, Indiana; two brothers, Wilbur (Bonnie) England of Scipio Indiana, and Leslie (Sylvia) England of Medora, Indiana; five sisters, Bonnie (Ernest) Brown of Norman, Indiana; Betty (Aaron) Hume, Clara (Mike) Sears, Clarice (Harold) Persinger and Pamala Guthrie all of Medora, Indiana; two grandchildren, Tony (Lori) Henderson and Tonya (Mike) Childers all of Columbus, Indiana; three great grandchildren, Shacara Childers, Taylor Henderson and Tyler Henderson all of Columbus, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was also preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Earl Guthrie. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 10, 2014 at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown, with Pastor Paul Newman officiating. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 9, 2014, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown, and from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday, October 10, 2014 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Leesville Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Organ Fund at Emanuel Lutheran Church, Leesville.
