Betty L. Umphress, age 92, of Volo, Illinois, passed away on Monday, November 11, 2019, at her residence.
Betty loved spending time with her family.
Born on October 23, 1927, in Fort Ritner, Indiana, she was the daughter of Smith and Sara Ellen Mikels, both of whom preceded her in death. On November 25, 1948, she married Billy D. Umphress and he also preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons: Kevin (Brenda) Umphress of Lindenhurst, Illinois, and Craig (Patty) Umphress of Vernon Hills, Illinois; two daughters, Rhonda (Andy) Toth of Gurnee, Illinois, and Kara Umphress of Volo, Illinois; one sister, Mary Gibbs of Tipton, Indiana; and four grandchildren: Melanie (Eric) Ibsh, Jason (Nicole) Umphress, Carley Umphress, and Courtney Umphress.
Betty was also preceded in death by a brother, Ray Mikels.
Funeral services for Betty L. Umphress will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 16, 2019, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown. Friends may visit from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
Interment will be at Proctor Cemetery.
