Billy D. Browning, age 93, of Brownstown, passed away on Monday, September 19, 2022, at Hoosier Christian Village, Brownstown.
Mr. Browning was an involved member of the Freetown Church of Christ, and he was a carpenter his entire life. Billy loved spending time with his granddaughters, as they were his "pride and joy". He also loved spending time with his family in Florida, and he enjoyed watching basketball and baseball.
Born on November 15, 1928, in Kurtz, Billy was the son of Eathel and Lettie May Lyons Browning, both of whom preceded him in death. On March 27, 1948, in Brownstown, he married Betty Kindred, and she preceded him in death.
Survivors include one son, Steve (Darlene) Browning of Columbus; two granddaughters: Michele (Brad) Seymour of Columbus, and Holly (Chris) Robbins of Columbus; and four great-grandchildren: Karson Tays, Ashlyn Robbins, Jenna Robbins, and Claire Seymour.
Besides his parents, Mr. Browning was also preceded in death by his sister, Annabel Murphy, and brother-in-law, Robert Murphy.
Funeral services for Billy D. Browning will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 23, 2022, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown, with Pastor Daniel Ison officiating. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 23, 2022, at the funeral home.
Interment will be at Kurtz Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to Driftwood Christian Church Missions.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the caring staff at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown.
