Bonnie Faye Hawn Otte, age 87, of Seymour, passed away on Monday, February 17, 2020, at Lutheran Community Home, Seymour, surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Otte was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Wegan, and belonged to the Ladies Aid at the church. Bonnie was a homemaker and also belonged to the VFW Auxiliary, and the Legion Auxiliary.
Bonnie's family was the love of her life. She also loved to sew and watch Nascar and the Kentucky Derby, and enjoyed canning and traveling.
Born on April 25, 1932, in Washington County, she was the daughter of Willie and Kizzie Bryant Hawn, both of whom preceded her in death. On July 6, 1949, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Vallonia, she married Marlyn Lee Otte, Sr. and he preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons: Jeffrey (Deborah) Otte of Seymour, and Roger (Mary) Otte of Brownstown; two daughters: Barbara (Bruce Shelley) Otte of Chicago, and Janet Finet (Robert) Finnerty of Seymour; six grandchildren: Carrie Hounshel-Wach, Sarah (Chad Stancil) Geis, Jeffrey (Kyla) Otte, Jr., Joseph (Niki) Otte, David Otte, and Elizabeth Klein; eight great-grandchildren: Kourtney Otte, Katherine Otte, Emerson Otte, Annabeth Otte, Faith Otte, Chase Otte, Zephyr Klein, and Emberly Klein; and sisters-in-law: June Jones, Naomi Hawn, and Lois Hawn.
Bonnie was also preceded in death by two sons: David Lee Otte, and Marlyn Lee Otte, Jr.; five brothers: Harold Hawn, Roland Hawn, John Hawn, Lloyd Hawn, and Lawrence Hawn; two sisters: Margaret Bush and Amy Newby; sister-in-law, Peggy Hawn; and one great-granddaughter, Erika Otte.
Funeral services for Bonnie Faye Hawn Otte will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 21, 2020, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Wegan, with Pastor Martin Keller officiating. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 20, 2020, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown, and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Wegan.
Interment will follow at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Wegan Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Wegan Ladies Aid, American Cancer Society, or Donor's choice.
