Byron Leon West, age 78, of Crothersville, passed away on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at Schneck Medical Center, Seymour.
Mr. West of the Baptist faith.
He worked at Cummins Engine Co. for 45 years.
Byron was a "good-hearted" person, and he always found the best in people. He loved camping, fishing, gardening, working on and restoring old cars and clocks, and he was a member of the NRA.
Born on November 27, 1945, in Scott County, Byron was the son of Roland and Nina (Derringer) West, both of whom preceded him in death.
Survivors include one son, Bryan (JoAnn) West of Crothersville; two daughters: Cynthia (William) Collier of Westfield, and Patricia (Thomas) Nolan of Paris Crossing; seven grandchildren: Kristen (Jordan) Koerner, Kyle Collier, Tori Collier, Christopher West, Douglas West, Amanda West, and Alexander Walker; 12 great-grandchildren; and the mother of his children, Jane Allen.
In addition to both parents, Byron was also preceded in death by a brother, Elvin West.
Funeral services for Byron Leon West will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 10, 2023, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown. Friends may call from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 10, 2023, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc.
Memorials may be given to Tampico Baptist Church or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
