Caleb Scott VonDielingen, age 23, of Seymour, a beloved child of God, and a loving son, brother, grandson, great-grandson, and friend to many, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at Schneck Medical Center, Seymour.
Caleb was baptized in Christ on September 1, 2002, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, and confirmed in his faith on May 7, 2017, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Seymour. Caleb loved and regularly attended Immanuel Lutheran Church with his family.
Throughout the years, Caleb attended Jackson Elementary School, Redding School, Seymour Middle School, and was a proud 2021 graduate of Seymour High School.
Family was at the center of Caleb's life, and he treasured every moment spent with those he loved. He particularly cherished the many family trips to Disney World. He enjoyed participating in Unified Track until the age of 22, and he had a special love for being in the water, especially spending time in his family’s hot tub. He could spend hours watching the waves, and he never passed up the chance to enjoy eating pizza, as that was his favorite food.
Caleb brought a unique light into the lives of everyone who knew him. He experienced the world with remarkable honesty, curiosity, and wonder. He found joy in the things he loved most and taught those around him to appreciate life's simple, beautiful moments. His gentle spirit, unforgettable smile, and unconditional love will remain in the hearts of his family forever.
Born on August 8, 2002, in Seymour, Caleb was the son of Scott and Jami (Kamman) VonDielingen, both of whom survive in Seymour.
Survivors, who also loved Caleb dearly, include his two younger brothers: Conner VonDielingen and Cade VonDielingen, both of Seymour; maternal grandparents, James “Jim” and Linda Kamman of Seymour; paternal grandparents, Stephen “Steve” and Joyce VonDielingen of Seymour; paternal great-grandfather, William “Bill” Kamman of Seymour; aunts and uncles: Jennifer (Chip) Weaver, Holly (Mike) Conway, Jill (Seth) Peterson, Stephanie (Brad) Bott, and uncle Chris Browning; and cousins: Jane Browning, Jackson Lentini, and Mychal Eagleson.
