Carol Sue (Wiesman) King, age 80, of Crothersville, passed away on Saturday, December 23, 2023, at her home on the family farm surrounded by her loving family.
Carol was a member of Tampico Christian Church.
Mrs. King was a 1961 graduate of Crothersville High School. She was a dedicated farmer's wife, and she also worked at U.S. Shoe Factory, Regal Insulation/Royalty Co.
Carol loved her family dearly, and she loved spending time with them. She was an avid reader, and she also enjoyed gardening, putting puzzles together, writing poems, and going to garage sales. Carol lived by her motto: "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you".
Born on November 2, 1943, in Crothersville, Carol was the second child born to Hallie "Jack" and Elinora Derringer Wiesman, both of whom preceded her in death. On December 15, 1962, in Crothersville, she married Merrill G. King, and he survives in Crothersville.
Survivors also include two sons: Robert E. King of Crothersville, and Merrill Scott King of Crothersville; one daughter, Rachelle (Bryan) Myers of Brownstown; one brother, Randy Wiesman of Homosassa, Florida; two sisters: Rose Wiesman of Madison, and Nora Henry of Crothersville; four grandchildren: Lucas (Anna) Spencer of Freetown, Brent King of Crothersville, Macey (Destin) Shafer of Scottsburg, and Kaitlin Smith of Seymour; and four great-grandchildren: Rhett Spencer, Rossi Spencer, Kaizlie Shafer, and Kainley Shafer.
Carol was also preceded in death by two brothers: Ronnie Wiesman and Gary Wiesman; and one sister, Rita Goble.
Funeral services for Carol Sue (Wiesman) King will be conducted at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown, with Pastor Randy King officiating. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc.
Interment will follow at Crothersville Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to Tampico Christian Church.
