Carolyn L. Wolka, age 90, of Brownstown, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, February 13, 2025, at Hoosier Christian Village, Brownstown, surrounded by her loving family.
Carolyn was a life-time member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Wegan, where she actively participated in the church's Ladies Aid.
Carolyn dedicated many years to working at the ASC office in Brownstown before retiring. She was a long-time member of both the Wegan Wide Awake Extension Homemakers Club and the American Legion Auxiliary, where she volunteered countless hours.
She cherished Christmas family gatherings and enjoyed playing Euchre, gardening, and traveling with friends. Carolyn had a deep affection for animals, especially cats.
Born on January 6, 1935, at her home in Tampico, Carolyn was the daughter of Simeon and Lydia (Otte) Wolka, both of whom preceded her in death.
Survivors include two nephews: Doug (Brenda) Wolka of Seymour, and Michael Wolka of Florida; two nieces: Cheryl Foster of Brownstown, and Brenda (Ron) Wilson of Brownsburg; and great-nephews and great-nieces: Andy (Suzi) Wolka, Adam (Sylvia) Wolka, Jennifer (Ryan) May, Daphne (Will) Cheatham, and Zach Foster.
Carolyn was preceded in death by one sister, Thelma Ruth Wolka; one brother, Earl Wolka; sister-in-law, Alberta Wolka; and nephew, Faron Wolka.
Funeral services for Carolyn L. Wolka will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Wegan, with Pastor Joel Meyer officiating. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Wegan.
Interment will follow at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Wegan Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Wegan Parsonage Fund.
