IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Charles "Chuck" Edward
Lowery
July 12, 1966 – January 20, 2026
Charles “Chuck” Edward Lowery, age 59, of Vallonia, died unexpectedly on Tuesday evening, January 20, 2026, at his home.
Mr. Lowery was a 1984 graduate of Brownstown Central High School. He later attended Vincennes University and Indiana State University, where he earned associate degrees.
Chuck worked as a press operator at Aisin U.S. Manufacturing for nearly 32 years. He proudly served his community through two terms as Driftwood Township Trustee, which position he currently held. He also served on the Driftwood Township Volunteer Fire Department from February 1999 through March 2016 and held the position of secretary/treasurer for 11 years. Above all, he was proud to call Vallonia his home.
Chuck cherished his family and the time he spent with them, and his friends were truly part of that family. He especially enjoyed entertaining “the guys” at Lowery’s Lounge and hosting memorable Super Bowl parties. Chuck loved to grill and make salsa. He made the best chili and appetizers, always using his favorite Marion Kay Spices.
He had a passion for mowing grass, gardening—especially growing tomatoes—scratching lottery tickets, enjoying a good glass of bourbon, taking his annual trip to Iowa for sprint car races, and Fort Vallonia days.
Music brought Chuck great joy, particularly the songs of Hank Williams and Jimmy Buffett. He also enjoyed his regular stops at JayC and Circle K. In his community, Chuck was recognized for his dedication and involvement. He was the “best sign guy” for the Jackson County GOP.
Born on July 12, 1966, in Fort Knox, Kentucky, Chuck was the son of Linda Diann (Peppers) Edwards, and she preceded him in death. On December 14, 2002, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Brownstown, he married Amanda Leigh Cunningham, and she survives in Vallonia.
Survivors also include one daughter, Jenna Caroline Lowery of Vallonia; one son, Trent Logan Lowery of Vallonia; two brothers: Mark (Juli) Edwards of Seymour, and Brad (Billie) Edwards of Seymour; one aunt, Kathy (Marshall) Burbrink; nephews: Ken (Kaimen) Archer and Keifer Dakota (Chelsea) Cowles; nieces: Ellen (Taylor) Forister, Mackenzie Diann Edwards, Sophia Cunningham, Stella Cunningham, Isabella Cunningham, Olivia Cuningham, and Bailey Lykins; cousins: David Burbrink, Mika (Ryan) Ahlbrand, and Josh (Alison) Burbrink; mother-in-law: Marsha Cunningham; brothers-in-law: Chris Cunningham and Seth (Katie) Cunningham; sister-in-law, Sara Cunningham; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Chuck was also preceded in death by his father-in-law, Gary Cunningham; and his grandparents: Charles and Helen Peppers.
