Daniel Joseph Carpenter, age 62, of Seymour, passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis.
Mr. Carpenter was a devoted member of Zion Lutheran Church, Seymour, and his commitment to the church was evident in his active participation and unwavering support.
Daniel was a respected business owner of Carpenter's Commercial Supply for over 20 years and his professional success reflected his dedication to service and excellence.
Family was the cornerstone of Daniel's life. His love for his family was immeasurable, and he cherished every moment spent with them. His grandchildren were a source of immense joy, and he particularly loved spending time with them and taking them on fun outings. He also enjoyed taking family vacations and playing games together. At home, he enjoyed working outdoors and watching Indianapolis Colts football. Daniel also had a deep love for his dog, Lucy.
Daniel was always a cheerful man, always ready to lend a helping hand. He was widely recognized and well known for his smile and contagious laughter.
Born on April 30, 1962, in Seymour, Daniel was the son of Charles and Judith (Sweet) Carpenter. His father preceded him in death, and his mother survives in Seymour. On October 1, 2022, he married Rhonda Jean Vines, and she survives in Seymour.
Survivors also include one son, Randy Polbito; six daughters: Sara Carpenter, Shawna (Damon) Campbell, Becky Carpenter, Rachael (Chris) McCormick, Alison (Mark) Maxie, and April (Angie) Delos Santos; three brothers: Jim (Natalie) Carpenter, Tim (Anne) Carpenter, and Paul (Tammy) Carpenter; two sisters: Mary (Mike) Nowling and Amy (J.L.) Brewer; and ten grandchildren: Cheyenne Campbell, Charlotte Campbell, Cameron Carpenter, Carter Maxie, Colt Maxie, Callie Maxie, Treyton McCormick, Kaylee McCormick, Adyson McCormick, and Bailey McCormick.
Funeral services for Daniel Joseph Carpenter will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at Zion Lutheran Church, Seymour, with Pastor Jeffrey Stuckwisch and Pastor Bradley Akey officiating. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at Zion Lutheran Church, Seymour, and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at Zion Lutheran Church.
Private family graveside services will be held at St. Ambrose Catholic Cemetery, Seymour, at a later date.
Memorials may be given to Zion Lutheran Church, Zion Lutheran School, or Donor's choice.
