Donald Keith Haggerty, age 72, of Brownstown, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at Schneck Medical Center, Seymour, surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Haggerty attended several churches throughout his life. In 2024, he was confirmed in his faith at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Brownstown, where he was committed to being a devoted member.
Don graduated from Pleasant Valley High School in Bettendorf, Iowa, in 1970. He then owned and operated Haggerty Trucking for many years before starting his career at Wal-Mart.
Mr. Haggerty had a deep love for his family and cherished the time spent with them. He also had a passion for his hobbies, including driving his tractor and riding motorcycles. Additionally, he enjoyed going out to eat.
Born on August 30, 1952, in Avon, Illinois, Donald was the son of Donald Leland and Donna (Wheeler) Haggerty, both of whom preceded him in death. On August 23, 2015, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Brownstown, he married April Lynn England, and she survives in Brownstown.
Survivors also include three sons: Donnie (fiancé Dynae) Haggerty of Iowa, Jason (Malinda) Haggerty of Newcastle, Oklahoma, and Ian (Katie) England of Brownstown; two daughters: Stephanie Haggerty of Buffalo, Iowa, and Holly (Brian) Tullar of Arizona; three brothers: Danny (Beverly) Haggerty, David Haggerty, and Doug Haggerty; grandchildren: Cole, Chelsie, Devan, Lennon, Ares, Micah, Anissa (Quentin), Brenna, Attison, Sean, Ian (Yasmin), Isaac, Amanda, Brady, Ethan, and Addison; great-grandchildren: Symmons and Quentin; uncle and aunt, Wayne and Cindy Wheeler of Canton, Illinois; nieces and nephews: Bill, Andrew, Nikki, Elizabeth, and Samantha.
Donald was also preceded in death by one sister, Diane Rieck.
Funeral services for Donald Keith Haggerty will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 17, 2025, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Brownstown, with Pastor Ryan Schneider officiating. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 17, 2025, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Brownstown.
Memorials may be given to St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Brownstown.
