Douglas Joe Thias, age 66, Seymour, passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at Lutheran Community Home, Seymour.
Mr. Thias was a lifetime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Seymour.
He worked at JayC Groub Warehouse, Ford Motor Company, and Cummins Engine Company for numerous years. His favorite pastimes were fishing and kayaking at Muscatatuck.
Born on May 4, 1957, in Seymour, he was the son of Herman and Verna Stelphonpohl Thias, both of whom preceded him in death.
Survivors include one brother, Kevin (Lisa) Thias of Seymour; one sister, Susan (Brian) Terrell of Spencer; nephew, Tyler (Kelsey) Thias; niece, Mallory (Corey) Seitz; and great-nieces: Meredith Thias, Monroe Thias, and Addilyn Seitz.
Funeral services for Douglas Joe Thias will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 27, 2023, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Seymour, with Pastor Ralph Blomenberg, Pastor Jimmy Rodriguez, and Pastor Will Fredstrom officiating. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Seymour.
Interment will be at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Seymour.
Memorials may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Seymour, or Schneck Medical Center Hospice.
