Edith E. Wayman, age 101, of Brownstown, passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at Hoosier Christian Village, Brownstown. Mrs. Wayman was a member of Brownstown United Methodist Church. Edith was employed with Jackson County REMC, retiring in 1982. She loved traveling with her husband. Born on September 10, 1920, in Dale, Indiana, she was the daughter of Reverend Edward and Ernestine Dale Dawson, both of whom preceded her in death. On November 6, 1938, in Bedford, she married Edmond E. Wayman and he preceded her in death in 2013. Survivors include two daughters: Joetta (Albert) Clampitt of Seymour, and Sue (Eugene) Peters of Brownstown; two grandchildren: Larry (Kelly) Peters of Brownstown, and Kimberly (Ron) Toppe of Vallonia; four great-grandchildren: Blake (Megan) Peters, Evan Peters, Brianna (David) Schulz, and Wade (Erin) Toppe; and four great-great-grandchildren: Keaton Peters, Corbin Peters, Isaac Schulz, and Ava Schulz. Edith was also preceded in death by two sisters: Pauline Spurgeon and Ruth Dale. A private family service will be held at Brownstown United Methodist Church.
