Edna Faye Ault, age 87, of Brownstown, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at Hoosier Health & Living, Brownstown, with her loving family by her side.

Mrs. Ault was a life-time member of Vallonia Baptist Church and dedicated more than 12 years of service at Riss International.

Edna cherished her family deeply and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Edna enjoyed attending auctions and flea markets with her husband, Alfred. She also loved traveling across the country as a truck driver alongside Alfred, while working together in their family business, A & L Logging. Edna was a dedicated supporter of Figure 8 Powder Puff Racing and took great pride in being a part of the racing community. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting and embroidery.

Born on February 19, 1939, at her home in Clearspring, Edna was the daughter of James and Sophia (Beavers) Maples, both of whom preceded her in death. On July 9, 1955, she married Alfred Alvin Ault, Jr., and he preceded her in death on June 6, 2010.

Survivors include one son, Jerry (Rachel) Ault of Medora; five daughters: Janice (Andrew) Lockman of Brownstown, Brenda Mollet of Salem, Judy Gorbett of Brownstown, Debra (Ed) Persinger of Columbus, and Rebecca (J.T.) Eisenmenger of Clearspring; 27 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great grandchildren.

Mrs. Ault was also preceded in death by one son, Larry Ault; two sons-in-law: Steve Mollet, and James Gorbett; and three brothers: Kenneth (Margaret) Maples, William (Bonnie) Maples, and Dee Maples; and one granddaughter, Judy Faye Gorbett.

Funeral services for Edna Faye Ault will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown, with Pastor Chris Criminger officiating. Friends may call from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, August 31, 2026, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc. and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc.

Interment will follow at Vallonia Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
