Elizabeth Ozbun

Elizabeth "Liz" Stidam Ozbun, age 83, Brownstown, passed away at 9:10 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014, at Hoosier Christian Village, Brownstown. Elizabeth was a member of Brownstown Christian Church. She retired from Medora Plastic Factory in 1986. She graduated from Medora High School in 1949 and participated in the Golden Wheels Travel Club. Born March 1, 1930, in Blackwater, Virginia, she was the daughter of Werley and Margaret Pruitt Stidam, both of whom preceded her in death. On July 25, 1949, at Medora Lutheran Church, she married Elvin Ozbun, who preceded her in death. Survivors include one son, Larry (Jane) Ozbun, Seymour; one daughter, Diana (Craig) Ozbun Coumbe, Viara, Fla.; two brothers, Ules "Pete" Stidam, Gary, and Robert Stidam, Seymour; four grandchildren, Justin Ozbun, Ryan Ozbun, Jeremy Ozbun and Scott Coumbe; six great-grandchildren, Kaylee Ozbun, Regan Ozbun, Kennedy Ozbun, Cole Ozbun, Jeremy Ozbun Jr. and Laith Ozbun; and two step-great-grandchildren, Kole Laymon and Levi Laymon. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Randy Ozbun; seven brothers, Elmer Stidam, Ernest Stidam, Charles Stidam, James Stidam, Calvin Stidam, Norman Stidam and Oliver Stidam; and two sisters, Kate Stidam and Martha Stidam Moore.A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Spurgeon Funeral Home Inc., Brownstown, with Doug Pogue officiating. Burial will take place at Fairview Cemetery, Brownstown. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
