Elizabeth F. Powers, age 75, of Seymour, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, December 16, 2025, at Lutheran Community Home, Seymour.
Elizabeth was a devoted woman of faith. She was confirmed on December 10, 2022, at Zion Lutheran Church in Seymour and remained a faithful member thereafter.
She graduated from Purdue University in 1975 and earned a master's degree in library science from Indiana University in 1980. She worked at the Indiana University School of Law Library and later for many years worked at the Chester County Library in the Philadelphia area. She had a lifelong love of books and enjoyed walking outdoors.
Born on August 30, 1950, in Hartford, Connecticut, Elizabeth was the daughter of Francis W. and Vera M. (Lewis) Powers, both of whom preceded her in death.
Survivors include one brother, William (Peg) Powers of Seymour.
Funeral services for Elizabeth F. Powers will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 22, 2025, at the Lutheran Community Home Chapel with Pastor Jeffrey Stuckwisch officiating.
Interment will be at Riverview Cemetery, Seymour, at a later date.
Memorials may be given to Zion Lutheran Church, Seymour.
