Genive Opal Buttorff, age 89, Brownstown, passed away at 5:45 p.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2013, at Hoosier Christian Village, Brownstown.
Genive attended Kurtz Church of the Nazarene. She worked at Morgan's Canning Factory in Brownstown and was a homemaker.
Born July 22, 1923, in Jackson County, she was the daughter of Mike and Goldie Elkins Buttorff, both of whom preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons, Jay Buttorff, Brownstown, and Jimmy D. Buttorff, Medora; one sister, Mary O'Bannon, Oden; one granddaughter, Tonya Jo (Clint) Ault, Medora; and one great-granddaughter, Kori Jo Lakes, Medora.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Lorene Spurgeon and Irene VanWinkle.
Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Spurgeon Funeral Home Inc., Brownstown, with Floyd Fisher officiating. Burial will take place at Kurtz Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to donor's choice of charity.
