Ginger Lee Deaton, age 62, of Brownstown, passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2025, at Schneck Medical Center, Seymour, surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Deaton was a member of Haleysburg Nazarene Church. She devoted many years of service as a shipping clerk at NTN. Ginger held her family close to her heart and truly treasured the moments spent together, especially when everyone was present. She also had a love for painting pictures and found joy in creating art. Born on May 12, 1962, in Champaign, Illinois, Ginger was the daughter of Dr. William Nelson and Carol (West) Linley, both of whom survive. On June 14, 2010, she married James W. Deaton, and he survives in Brownstown. Survivors also include five daughters: Jennifer Herzner (Kwan Lin), Ruth Schulz, Erica (Bryan) Lorenz, Rikki (Dwight) Gregory, and Terra Deaton; three sons: James R. Deaton, Matthew Deaton, and James L. Deaton; two sisters: Ellen Herzner, and Kathy Collins Baisden; and eight grandchildren: Jacquelyn Wong, Jamison Wong, Kody Lin, Alexzandra May, Aiden Holloway, Tucker Gregory, Lydia Lorenz, and Lucas Bowers. Ginger was preceded in death by one brother, Billy Nelson. A Celebration of Life for family and friends will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at Peter's Switch Church of the Nazarene, Seymour.
