Gregory Wayne Patton, age 59, of Bedford, passed away on Tuesday, May 4, 2021, at IU Health, Bedford Hospital.
Mr. Patton was of the Christian faith. He recently found the Lord, which greatly impacted his life.
He was the owner of Patton Roofing & Construction Company. Mr. Patton was a member of the United States Army, an EMT, and helped with the homeless men's shelter in Bedford.
Greg loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. His grandchildren were number one in his life. He also enjoyed spending time outdoors, camping, and racing.
Born on July 24, 1961, he was the son of Marvin and Brenda Enochs Patton, both of whom preceded him in death.
Survivors include two sons: Gregory Wayne (Tabitha) Patton, Jr. of Brownstown, and Ethan A. Patton of Norman; one daughter, Karen Marie (Daniel) Blocker of Bedford; one brother, Marlin (Rebecca) Patton of Bedford; three grandchildren: Bre'Anna Blocker, Lucas Blocker, and Nylah Patton; one nephew, Dylan Patton; and friend and mother of his children, Donna Lynn Horn (Chad) Creech.
Besides his parents, Mr. Patton was also preceded in death by three sisters, who died before birth.
Funeral services for Gregory Wayne Patton will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 7, 2021, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown, with Bill Edwards officiating. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc. will be practicing social distancing according to CDC guidelines. Masks are required when entering the funeral home.
Military honors will be presented by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1925, American Legion Post 89, Disabled American Veterans 47 and Vietnam Vets 7.
Interment will be at Liberty Cemetery, Norman.
Memorials may be given to the homeless men's shelter in Bedford.
