Obituary

Johnny Ray Graham, age 61, of Freetown, passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at Schneck Medical Center, Seymour.

Johnny dedicated many years to working in a factory. He also had a passion for working on motorcycles and cars and could fix just about anything. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, bowling, and playing darts.

Family was very important to Johnny. He had a heart of gold and was always willing to lend a helping hand to others. His kindness and caring nature made him a cherished friend to many.

Born on August 27, 1964, in Seymour, Johnny was the son of George, Jr. and Frances Ruth (Ault) Graham, both of whom preceded him in death. On March 18, 1994, at their home in Seymour, Johnny married Sheba Mitchell, and she survives in Freetown.

Survivors also include two daughters: Leah Dawn Hunsucker (fiancé Andrew Frazier), and Rebekah Martinez (Erik Crowder); seven grandchildren: Tyler Cossell, Gage Cossell, Ethan Cossell, Eyan Cossell, Bryce Butler, Carlos Gomez, and Ana Gomez; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, Donny (Crystal) Graham; one sister, Barbara Graham; and several nieces and nephews.

Johnny was also preceded in death by six brothers: Bob Graham, Andy Graham, Jimmy Graham, Jerry Graham, Tommy Graham, and Willie Graham; and two sisters: Becky Graham and Betty Graham.

Funeral services for Johnny Ray Graham will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc.

Interment will follow at Spraytown Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the caring staff at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc.
