Judith A. Atkins, age 81, of Brownstown, passed away on Friday, November 4, 2022, at Hoosier Christian Village, Brownstown.
Judy loved cooking, and no one ever left her home hungry. Later in life, she enjoyed bird watching and doing crossword puzzles.
Born on January 30, 1941, at home in Jackson County, she was the daughter of Lester and Mamie Ethel (Hacker) Hanner, both of whom preceded her in death. On April 9, 1960, she married Robert Atkins, and he preceded her in death on July 9, 2001.
Survivors include one son, Robert Atkins; five grandchildren: Tammy Atkins, Jessica Marshall, Dustin Applegate, Kayla Applegate, and Nick Atkins; and seven great-grandchildren: Alyssa Horton, Emma Atkins, Cali Applegate, Jesi Applegate, Jack Marshall, Rubi Applegate, and Aleah Atkins.
Mrs. Atkins was also preceded in death by one sister, Evelyn Darkis.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Kurtz Cemetery.
Memorials may be given in Judith's honor to Hoosier Christian Village Auxiliary.
