Obituary

Karen Lee Allman, age 79, of Seymour, passed away late Wednesday evening, May 27, 2026, at the Ascension St. Vincient, Indianapolis, surrounded by her family.

Immanuel Lutheran Church played a central role throughout Karen’s life. She was baptized into Christ on October 6, 1946, and confirmed in her faith on April 10, 1960. Karen remained a faithful and active member of the church throughout her life, dedicating her time and talents through the church’s Ladies Guild and many other committees and ministries.

Karen enjoyed traveling with her husband, Bobby. She also treasured time spent with her “Mixed Nuts” friend group. In her spare time, Karen loved sewing, creating doll clothes and quilts for those she loved. Above all, she cherished time with her family and especially adored her grandchildren.

Karen was a dedicated bookkeeper and office manager throughout her working career. She began her career at Lester Beverages, later worked for Moorman Feeds, and eventually retired from Excel Tool.

Born on September 18, 1946, in Seymour, Karen was the daughter of Charles A. and Carol G. (Weber) Schrader, both of whom preceded her in death. On April 3, 1965, at Seymour Christ Temple, she married Robert “Dewey” Allman, and he survives in Seymour.

Survivors also include two sons: Christopher (Whitney) Allman of Seymour, and Joshua (Kelley) Allman of Indianapolis; one daughter, Lisa (David) Richart of Seymour; six grandchildren: Kyle (Angela) Richart, Abigail (Zack) Killey, Anna (Anthony) Navarini, Cole (Laura) Allman, Tess Allman, and Frannie Allman; eight great grandchildren: Natalie, Cassidy, Teresa, Luca, Oren, Isabella, Clover, and Lincoln; two sisters: Jackie (Ron) Speaker, and Kathy Branaman; two brothers: Micheal Schrader and John Schrader; and one half-brother, Ron (Sharon) Schrader.

Fredstrom, and Vicar Max Johnston officiating. Friends may call from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 1, 2026, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Seymour.
