Kimberly Marie (Fitzgerald) (Fritz) Barron, age 71, of Seymour, went to be with Jesus on December 31, 2025, after a brief battle with cancer. Her husband, Randy, was by her side.

Kim was born in Storm Lake, Iowa, on July 12, 1954, to Michael and Joyce (Larkins) Fitzgerald, both of whom preceded her in death. After moves to Germany, Bakersfield, California, Omaha, Nebraska, and Rockwell City, Iowa, the family settled down in Fonda, Iowa, where she attended Our Lady of Good Counsel before transferring to Fonda High School. After graduation, Kim married Roark Fritz with whom she had two daughters.

Kim had many interests and pursued several career paths. In the 1980s, she enrolled in architecture classes at College of DuPage and got straight A’s while working as a surveyor’s assistant. In the 1990s, she attended Joliet Junior College and earned an associate’s degree, again getting straight A’s. Then in her forties, Kim found her calling - massage. After receiving her certification as a massage therapist from Wellness and Massage Training Institute in 2003, Kim spent the rest of her life bringing healing, relief, and comfort to many people through massage.

After a dramatic salvation experience at Westmont Alliance Church, Kim’s life was marked by her sincere faith and love for Jesus. Nearly every morning at sunrise, she could be found with a cup of coffee, her Bible, and her prayer journal. She was also passionate about natural health and wellness and spent many hours in her vegetable and flower garden. She was a devoted mother and grandmother.

Kim is survived by her husband of 26 years, Randy Barron; two daughters: Gretchen Fritz and Glynka (Matthew) FritzMiller; her first husband, Roark Fritz; grandchildren: Elsa FritzMiller, Annika FritzMiller, and Emory FritzMiller; brothers: Douglas Fitzgerald, Stanley Fitzgerald, Kevin Fitzgerald, Craig Fitzgerald, and Brenden Fitzgerald; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Randall and Shirley Barron; sister-in-law, Donna (Matt) Ellard; brothers-in-law: Steve (Beth) Barron and Brian (Kitty) Barron; stepchildren: Leslie Barron, Casey (Sarah) Amrhein, Samantha (Brendon) Forney, and Teddi (Blake) Rinehart; seven nephews; three nieces; and 12 “bonus” grandchildren.

A memorial service for Kimberly Marie (Fitzgerald) (Fritz) Barron will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in Seymour. Graveside ceremonies will follow immediately after the sanctuary service at Seymour City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given in Kim’s memory to Clarity Pregnancy Centers of Central Indiana.
