Kimberly Sue Hurt, age 64, of Seymour, passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at her home.
Kim attended Seymour Christian Church. Kim was the first manager at Russell Stover in Brownstown, and she had the honor of naming the street where the store was located, calling it Sweet Street. She also worked at the Corydon Veterinary Office.
Kim deeply loved her family, friends, and her pets, Macie Rose and Ava Grace, and she especially cherished traveling with her husband, Tim. A devoted animal lover, she found joy in caring for them. Kim also had a passion for riding Harley-Davidson motorcycles.
Born on October 9, 1959, in Seymour, Kim was the daughter of Carolyn (Robeson) Smith and Jerry Smith and Sharon Smith Wills. Carolyn (Robeson) Smith and Jerry Smith preceded her in death, and Sharon Smith Wills survives in Brownstown. Kim's grandparents, Edith and Everett Smith, also played a significant role in raising her, and they both also preceded her in death. On April 15, 1996, in Maui, Hawaii, she married Timothy Wayne Hurt, and he survives in Seymour.
Survivors also include one brother, Matthew (Jennifer) Smith of Brownstown; one sister, Jerri Kay (Doug) Hall of Brownstown; brothers-in-law: Roger (Sharon) Hurt, James (Tami) Hurt, and Mark Hurt; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services for Kimberly Sue Hurt will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 7, 2024, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown, with Pastor Mitchell McIntyre officiating. Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 6, 2024, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 7, 2024, at the funeral home.
Interment will follow at Proctor Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, Indigo's Rescue Ranch, or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
