Obituary

Leona Emma Klosterman Stahl, age 90, of Brownstown, passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2017 at Lutheran Community Home, Seymour.
Mrs. Stahl was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Sauers, and was a homemaker.
Born on June 22, 1927, in Bartholomew County, Indiana, she was the daughter of Fred and Lena Burbrink Peters, both of whom preceded her in death. On August 3, 1947 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Whitecreek, she married Amos Klosterman and he preceded her in death on July 17, 1972. She then married Louis N. Stahl on December 11, 1976 and he preceded her in death on May 13, 2010.
Survivors include two sons: Max (Brenda) Klosterman and Mark (Lisa) Klosterman, both of Brownstown; five daughters: Marjorie (James) Lambert, Jr. of Vallonia; Janet McKain, Karen (Scott) Lanam, Betty Darlage and Lola (Terry) Lynch, all of Seymour; two stepsons: Denver (Sheila) Stahl of Seymour and Ronald Stahl of Brownstown; three stepdaughters: Sharon Collier and Lisa Stahl both of Seymour; and Linda (Jack) Gilbert of Medora; step daughter-in-law: Rita Stahl of Brownstown; 18 grandchildren: Joan (David) Shuler, Tony Lambert, Garrett McKain, Beth Wilson, Eric (Sarah) Lanam, Josh (Lacey) Lanam, Andy (Chelsea) Lanam, Julie (Andy) Rueger, Jeffrey (Jennifer) Darlage, Lacy (Josh) Vaughn, Leah (Kyle) Broshears, Clayton (Hannah) Klosterman, Lisbeth (Chad) Decker, Corey (Hillary) Lynch, Chad Lynch and Breanna, Kyle Klosterman and Hannah, Kraig Klosterman and Sommer, Kyra Klosterman and Jacob; 14 step grandchildren: Kim (Tony) Pferrer, Greg Collier, Trae Collier, James Collier, Denver (Joann) Stahl II, Amy (Jeff) King, Bryan (Ashley) Stahl, Jennifer (Kyle) Telligman, Jared (Julie) Stahl, Ashley Stahl, Jamie (Jason) Schroeder, Kristi (Matt) Burbrink, Heather (Blaine) Stevens, Whitney (Levi) Goforth; 31 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; 27 step great grandchildren; and one step great great grandchild.
Leona was also preceded in death by three brothers: Ralph Peters, Richard Peters and Eldor Peters; two sisters: Vera Bode and Selma Claycamp; stepson: Steve Stahl; step daughter-in-law: Shirley Stahl; 3 great grandchildren: Baby girl Lanam, Bryce Rueger, and Ezekiel Decker; and great great granddaughter, Abigail England.
Funeral services for Leona Emma Klosterman Stahl will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Sauers, with Pastor Craig Muhlbach officiating. Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown, and from11:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Sauers.
Burial will be at St. John's Lutheran Church, Sauers Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to St. John's Lutheran Church, or Schneck Hospice, in care of Spurgeon Funeral Home.
