Lizzie Bee Berry, age 82, Norman, passed away at 4:17 p.m. Friday, February 15, 2013, at Bedford Hospital I.U. Health, Bedford. Lizzie was a member of Valley Home Old Regular Baptist Church and was a housewife. She was a member of Brownstown Senior Citizens Center and Norman Conservation Club. The family would like to thank all of their friends and relatives, especially the doctors and staff at Bedford Hospital, for their warm and loving care. Born June 28, 1930, in Hotspot, Ky., she was the daughter of James and Rushie Sizemore Lumpford, both of whom preceded her in death. She married Cyril Berry Sr. on Aug. 22, 1945, in Letcher County, Ky. He survives. Other survivors include three sons, Cyril (Christine) Berry Jr., Michigan, James Edward (Jane) Berry, Mississippi, and Jimmy L. Berry, Indiana; two daughters, Linda Fay (Fritz) Daniels, Michigan, and Cora Lucas, Indiana; one brother, Cylde Lumpford, California; one sister, Cora Smith, Texas; 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Logan, Burel, Esau and Mitchel; and three sisters, Lula Caudell, Matilda Jaynes and Carrie Bates. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Valley Home Old Regular Baptist Church, Freetown, with Arnold Bates officiating. Burial will take place at Valley Home Cemetery, Freetown. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Spurgeon Funeral Home Inc., Browns town, and from 9:30 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at the church. Memorials may be given to Senior Citizens Center, Brownstown.
