Lowell Steven "Brownie" Brown, age 70, of Medora, passed away on Saturday, September 4, 2021, at Hoosier Christian Village, Brownstown, surrounded by his family.
Steve was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Brownstown, for more than 20 years.
Mr. Brown was a retired tractor mechanic and owner and operator of Brownie's Tractor Repair since 1985.
Brownie never met a stranger. He loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his great-grandchildren, and he loved his dog, Belle. He also enjoyed watching football and baseball, especially the St. Louis Cardinals, and driving his gator around the farm and giving rides.
Born on January 16, 1951, in Seymour, Steve was the son of James Thomas "Tom" and Gleda Maxine Weddle Brown, both of whom preceded him in death. On November 1, 1970, at Medora Christian Church, he married Brenda Wray and she survives in Medora.
Survivors also include one son, Timothy Scott (Terrisa) Brown of Brownstown; one daughter, Bobbi Jo (Doug) Christopher of Medora; three brothers: Jim (Ann) Brown of New Albany, Tom "Harv" (Becky) Brown of Brownstown, and Jerry "Celery" (Tammy) Brown of Medora; six grandchildren: Taelor (Alex) Caudill, Jenni Morrison, Brett Morrison, Cody Sumpter, Carly Brown, and Ty Brown; seven great-grandchildren: Klaeton Caudill, Ollie Caudill, Hayden Caudill, KayliJo Caudill, Ashlyn Sumpter, Drake Morrison, and Dustin Morrison; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Lowell Steven "Brownie" Brown will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 9, 2021, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Brownstown, with Pastor Jeremy Yeadon officiating. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown, and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church.
Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery, Brownstown.
Memorials may be given to St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Brownstown, Hoosier Christian Village, or donor's choice.
