Mary Jane McClellan Turpin, age 78, of Brownstown, Indiana, passed away at 4:30 a.m. on Monday, August 18, 2014 at Hoosier Christian Village, Brownstown. Born on December 7, 1935, in Seymour, Indiana, she was the daughter of John and Martha Boofer McClellan, both of whom preceded her in death. Survivors include two sons, Allen (Regina) Shelton of Vallonia, Indiana, and Chester Shelton of Brownstown, Indiana; three daughters, Norrita (Dallas) Miller of Russell Springs, Kentucky, Mara (Clarence) Spicer of Crothersville, Indiana, and Allison (Gary) VonDielingen of Brownstown, Indiana. Also surviving include seven grandchildren, Michael VonDielingen, Paula Nowling, Stephanie Pollock, Jason VonDielingen, Kelly Spicer, Darrell Shelton and Jodi Shelton, and 14 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by one son, Donald Lane, one daughter, Phyllis Lane, and one brother, Thomas McClellan. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 22, 2014 at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc, Brownstown, with Bill Edwards officiating. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 21, 2014, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown, and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, Brownstown, Indiana.
