Michael Joseph Healy, age 68, of Cape Coral, Florida, passed away at his home on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, in the arms of his wife.
Mike was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Seymour.
Mike was known to many as "Big Mike" and as "Smokey." He had a deep love for life and enjoyed riding motorcycles, golfing, watching sports and westerns, fishing, buying and selling guns, and playing cards. He especially adored children and treasured time spent playing ball with his beloved dog, Joie. An outgoing person, Mike, never met a stranger and could strike up a conversation with anyone.
Born on October 24, 1956, in Esterville, Iowa, Mike was the son of Joseph and Joyce (Flanigan) Healy, both of whom preceded him in death. Mike and Patti (Shinkle) were devoted companions, sharing life's journey through dating and marriage for 43 years.
Besides his parents, Mike was preceded in death by one son, Michael D. Healy.
A Celebration of Life for Mike will take place on Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Shadowood Golf Course in Seymour.
Local funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the caring staff of Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc.
