Mildred G. Engel, age 94, of Brownstown, Indiana, formerly of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday, October 23, 2014 at Hoosier Christian Village, Brownstown. She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Brownstown, and was a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Indianapolis, Indiana. Mildred graduated from Arsenal Technical High School, Indianapolis, in 1938 and was a homemaker. Born on May 18, 1920, in Columbus, Indiana, she was the daughter of Harry G. and Sylvia Lawell Kasting, both of whom preceded her in death. On May 15, 1943, she married Henry F. Engel in Indianapolis, Indiana. He preceded her in death on April 8, 2002. Survivors include one son, Rev. Ronald (Jan) Engel of Fort Pierce, Florida, one daughter, Linda E. (Glen) Inman of Bedford, Indiana; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by one brother, Arthur Kasting and one sister, Pauline Brown. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 27, 2014 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Brownstown, with Pastor Jeff Patterson officiating. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday, October 27, 2014 at the church. Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 27, 2014 at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Greenwood, Indiana. Memorials may be given to St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Brownstown, the Lutheran Hour or Concordia Seminary of Fort Wayne, Indiana.
